Our Mission:
To provide floral professionals with the highest quality products & expertise.
Our Story:
Springfield Florist Supply was founded in 1927 by John and Rose DellaTorre, whose vision and determination laid the foundation for what has become a trusted name in the floral industry today.
At just 15 years old, John emigrated from Mello, Italy, on his own, seeking a brighter future and to escape the turmoil of World War I. He began his journey as a bricklayer, saving diligently until he could purchase land in Brattleboro, Vermont, and a Model-T Ford. With these two assets, he began harvesting greens and delivering them to markets across the east coast, sowing the seeds for what would become his legacy.
In the 1940s, John expanded the business by acquiring a competitor’s flower shop & greenhouse. Together with Rose, he grew carnations, pompons, chrysanthemums, and seasonal potted plants to supply both wholesale clients and their own flower shop. Through hard work, exceptional customer service, and a commitment to quality, the couple built Springfield Florist Supply into a reliable partner for florists and businesses alike.
Their son, Robert DellaTorre, continued to grow the business, upholding the same values and principles instilled by his parents. Today, the third & fourth generation of the DellaTorre family proudly carries on the tradition with Arthur, David and Cameron, ensuring that Springfield Florist Supply remains a cornerstone of the floral industry.
Over the decades, we’ve cultivated strong relationships with vendors and customers, evolving alongside the floral industry while staying true to our roots. Approximately 90% of our flowers are now sourced directly from domestic and international farms, both large and small. We actively seek out growers who specialize in unique and innovative flower varieties to offer our customers the finest and freshest selection.
While we may not be the largest cut flower distributor in New England, our reputation and influence in the industry are undeniable.
